The Ohio Women's Bar Foundation was formed in 2008 as the educational and charitable arm of the Ohio Women's Bar Association. The Foundation's mission is to accelerate the advancement of women lawyers as leaders in the profession and to facilitate their service to the community. Its vision is to achieve this mission by collaborating with the OWBA and strategically securing the resources necessary to provide and fund extraordinary educational opportunities that enable Ohio’s women lawyers to advance in the profession and serve their communities.
The foundation's current initiatives include the Leadership Institute and the Diversity & Inclusion Law Student Scholarship. The Leadership Institute provides a unique opportunity for women lawyers to enhance their leadership, business development and communication skills while building strong relationships with other class members who are emerging leaders in the profession and networking with some of Ohio’s most prominent women lawyers. The Diversity & Inclusion Law Student Scholarship is awarded annually to a female law student in Ohio who has demonstrated commitment to promoting the missions of the OWBF and OWBA, who aspires to promote diversity and inclusion efforts in their future legal profession and/or bring a unique perspective to the practice of law from their diverse background or experience.
