    Reports to: Director, Dep Director, practice group lead
    Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday)

    THIS IS AN UNCLASSIFIED POSITION SERVED AT THE PLEASURE OF THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE. The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Law. Please note that this position may be subject to an oath of office and/or bonding requirements pursuant to Chapter 107 of the Cuyahoga County Code.

    REQUIREMENTS: Juris Doctorate and must be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. Experience in labor and employment matters including litigation preferred. Public Sector or municipal representation experience helpful .  Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Lexis research.

    Additional Requirements: Biennial renewal of license, CLE compliance.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Director of Law in providing legal services to the County in labor negotiations and employment matters including litigation. The successful candidate will be assigned to the labor /employment and litigation groups. Note, however, that assignments and duties in the Law Department fluctuate depending on need .

    Lawyers also perform other duties (e.g. - attend County Council and Committee meetings on an as needed basis; participate in various departmental meetings), as well as assist and advise on public records and open meetings laws.
