Rate: Commensurate with Experience
Reports to: Director/Deputy Director/Group Leaders
Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday
THIS IS AN UNCLASSIFIED POSITION THAT SERVES AT THE PLEASURE OF THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE AND THE DIRECTOR OF LAW
The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Law.
REQUIREMENTS: Juris Doctorate. Prefer attorney with 0-5 years’ experience in transactional matters including contracting, as well as experience in health and human services matters including regulatory and confidentiality concerns. Must have an active license to practice law in the State of Ohio. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will assist the Director of Law in providing legal services to the County’s Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”). The successful candidate will support the transactional needs of HHS, while serving as a member of the Law Department’s Contracting, Procurement and Real Estate practice group.
The successful candidate will review, draft and advise on a variety of agreements, including confidentiality and data sharing agreements, service agreements, consultant agreements and grant agreements. The successful candidate will also help advice HHS on compliance with public records disclosure laws, as well as laws related to confidentiality of HHS records and information. Candidate will advise HHS on general governance matters, as well as new and existing policy directives.
The successful candidate may also assist on an as-needed basis with various employment issues arising out of HHS including, without limitation, claims filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and /or the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.
