Hours:8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Friday
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from ABA accredited law school. Candidates must have significant (5-9+ years) experience supporting litigation or transactional matters, preferably in a law firm and /or government setting, and must be familiar with advanced legal concepts and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate legal issues clearly in one -on-one and in groups is essential . Candidates must have advanced negotiation and influencing skills, critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work under limited supervision.
Member in good standing of the Ohio bar. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with the County’s acceptable guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will assist the Director of Law in providing legal services to the County’s Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”). The successful candidate will support the transactional needs of HHS, while serving as a member of the Law Department’s Contracting, Procurement and Real Estate practice group. The successful candidate will review, draft and advise on a variety of agreements , including confidentiality and data sharing agreements, service agreements, consultant agreements and grant agreements. The successful candidate will also help advice HHS on compliance with public records disclosure laws, as well as laws related to confidentiality of HHS records and information. Candidate will advise HHS on general governance matters, as well as new and existing policy directives. The successful candidate may also assist on an as -needed basis with various employment issues arising out of HHS including, without limitation, claims filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and /or the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.
