COLUMBUS, OH (DECEMBER 4, 2017) -- Mehek Cooke has joined Thirty-One Gifts Legal department as Assistant General Counsel. Cooke began her career at a respected law firm in Columbus, Ohio, and then quickly advanced to several important positions within state government.
Cooke served as Assistant Chief Legal Counsel to Ohio Governor John Kasich, and worked avidly on his recent Presidential Campaign, Kasich for America, as Deployment Director and Legal Advisor. She also was Chief of Staff for Ohio’s Lt. Governor Mary Taylor, and served as Chief Legal Counsel to the Ohio Department of Agriculture during her successful tenure with the government.
Cooke received her doctor of law degree from Indiana University, and her masters in political science from Indiana University-Purdue University. She received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University.
Cooke’s state and local experience has been shaped by other federal and internal roles which include Procurement Specialist for the Political Military Affairs Regional Arms Division at the United States State Department; Terrorism Analyst for Chief Judge Richard Magnus of Singapore; and Asset Forfeiture and Counter-Terrorism Specialist for the United States Attorney's Office in Columbus, Ohio.
Cooke is a Jo Ann Davidson Leadership Institute graduate and a member of the Association of Ohio Commodores and also serves on the board of the Village Acedemy. She currently resides in Columbus, Ohio.
