The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking two (2) experienced legal professionals to fill the positions of Assistant Reporter. The Assistant Reporter edits and proofreads Supreme Court opinions in preparation for release; prepares and posts case announcements and other documents to the Court’s website; proofreads galleys and advance sheets prior to print publication.
The following duties are normal for this position. An Assistant Reporter may be assigned one or more of the specific duties depending upon the needs of the office and the Assistant Reporter’s skills and interests.
An Assistant Reporter is regularly exposed to sensitive information that must be kept strictly confidential.

Pursuant to Adm. Further, no employee shall have the employee's employment terminated with or without cause unless upon the concurrence of a majority of the Court.
Major Worker Characteristics:
The starting salary is $93,267.20 for a candidate admitted for at least 10 years.
This is an exempt unclassified position that reports to the Reporter of Decisions. The normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., however, additional hours may be necessary dependent on volume of work and deadlines.
The Supreme Court of Ohio offers a generous compensation package which includes salary review annually; health, vision, dental, and life insurance; 14% employer contribution to the state retirement plan (OPERS); tuition reimbursement; and paid vacation, personal and sick time earned in the first month of employment.
